History of Coastal Pollution

As coastal pollution increases, it is important that we continue to monitor these pollution levels closely and set stricter laws and regulations to prevent it from escalating. Throughout history, there have been numerous laws and regulations put in place in attempt to help restore the health of our coastal environment and put an end to pollution. It is evident that these efforts have not solved the problem, as we are still seeing increasing pollution levels from oil spills, littering, and runoff.
